Seeking a Compliance Accountant - North Dakota-based


The Compliance Accountant is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely preparation of regulatory, compliance, and fuel pathway reporting. This role manages verification schedules, ensures adherence to federal and state requirements, and provides financial compliance insights to leadership. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work both independently and collaboratively across the organization while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.


What You’ll Do:

Regulatory & Fuel Pathway

•       Prepare and submit annual fuel-pathway reports; monitor CI scores and deliver monthly updates to management.

•       Coordinate quarterly and annual pathway verifications with external verifiers.

•       Partner with RPMG on reporting obligations (e.g., RINs, EPA FFARS) and related programs.

•       Track all compliance/reporting deadlines and maintain complete, audit-ready records.

Tax & Financial Operations

•       Calculate, report, and remit federal and state excise taxes on time.

•       Track daily production and inventory levels and report to the marketing partner.

•       Complete month-end reconciliations for inventory and expense accruals.

•       Reconcile bank statements monthly and record transactions.

•       Prepare or assist with ad-hoc analyses and management reports.

Collaboration & Governance

•       Work with the Controller on federal and state filings.

•       Uphold confidentiality and compliance with company policies.

•       Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience and Requirements:

•       Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related business field preferred; equivalent experience considered.

•       3+ years of accounting or compliance-related experience recommended.

•       Strong knowledge of financial reporting and regulatory compliance.

•       Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).

•       Ability to analyze complex data and communicate effectively.

•       Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.

•       Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• High level of integrity with the ability to handle confidential information.
