Job description
This position aims to engage farmers in key watersheds to join the company's climate action projects in the USA, validating their eligibility for these initiatives. Developing relationships with local and global stakeholders involved in these projects is crucial. Additionally, managing relationships with farmers in specific interventions is essential to achieve long-term goals.
Responsibilities
- Build partnerships with local and global implementers impacting watersheds where we have acquisition goals. .
- Engage qualifying farmers to participate in our irrigation solutions.
- Design and execute a strategic plan to acquire new farmers in each watershed, ensuring alignment with company growth and impact objectives.
- Work aligned with the sales team in every intervention.
- Interview farmers to validate if they qualify to participate in our solutions..
- Responsible for leading and executing the process to collect historical irrigation data from farmers, with the goal of establishing water usage baselines and projecting potential savings.
- Supervise budgeting, due diligence, contract signing, and timely installation of irrigation equipment.
- Gather irrigation controller data from installed projects and facilitate integration with the company's platform.
- Maintain post-installation farmer relationships, ensuring smooth virtual and on field communication.
- Provide feasibility assessments to the Sales Team for new and existing watershed projects.
- Estimate acquisitions, perform quarterly re-estimations, track KPIs, metrics, and manage Pipedrive.
- Collaborate with other teams to ensure goal achievement and optimal client relationships.
- Share key insights and observations from field interactions with Agronomy Engagement. Document and log requested information.
- Manage travel logistics following protocols, including farmer meeting scheduling, vehicle rentals, accommodations, and more, for team visits.
EXPECTATIONS:
> First week:
- Learn about company's culture and vision.
- Get familiar with company's platform, ongoing projects, and team workflows.
- Understand the current state of clients, projects, and market strategies.
> First month:
- Gain deep insights into client needs and impact strategies.
- Build strong relationships with the Commercial, Agronomy, Data, Projects Managers and Product Teams while aligning with the Team Coordinator.
- Develop an in-depth understanding of company's platform, services, and product development cycle.
> First three months:
- Work aligned with company's Culture.
- Contribute to Commercial, Agronomy, Data, Projects Managers and Product Teams training to ensure technical quality and client relationships.
- Conduct at least 10 commercial meetings with new clients.
- Visit at least three existing clients to assess platform adoption.
- Continuously collect market insights to drive service innovation.
- Collaborate effectively with company team members.
Requirements
Mandatory requirements:
- Degree in Agronomy or a related field.
- Based in California, preferably near the Central Valley.
- Intermediate proficiency in Spanish.
- At least 3 years of experience in customer success, service, or account management within agribusiness.
- Understanding of regional irrigated crops.
- Strong skills in sales and customer support.
- Valid driver's license.
- Open to frequent travel across US agricultural regions.
- Comfortable using Google Drive, video conferencing tools, email, and WhatsApp.
