Job Title: Business Development Manager – Ag Commodities and Biofuels

Remote Based

Job Summary: The Business Development Manager will be responsible for identifying and nurturing strategic relationships with partners and potential customers within the agriculture, commodities, ethanol, and biofuel production sectors which are critical to growth and profitability.  This role involves developing a robust pipeline of new business opportunities, conducting research and analysis on market trends, and collaborating with marketing, sales, and product development teams to drive business growth. You will manage the sales process as the customer’s main point of contact until contract closure and on-boarding to the Company’s platform. You will align continually with leadership to assess portfolio opportunities and needs in the market, provide input into regional industry trends, technology/product development, to enhance our portfolio offerings specific to end-user needs.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Relationship Management:
  • Developing and executing market penetration and strategies for the Company’s customer requirements and providing solutions and services.
  • Identify and establish strategic relationships with key partners and potential customers.
  • Foster and maintain strong, long-term business relationships to support growth and expansion.
  •  Act as the central contact for customers during the proposal and onboarding proposal phases.
  • Business Opportunity Development:
  • Develop and manage a strong pipeline of new business opportunities through direct and indirect prospecting.
  • Utilize market knowledge and industry insights to identify emerging opportunities and trends.
  • Research and Analysis:
  • Advise on industry trends and support the development of growth strategies. Analyze existing business strategies and provide recommendations for future growth.
  • Evaluate market conditions, competitive landscape, and customer needs to inform strategic decisions.
  • Collaboration and Implementation:
  • Work closely with marketing, sales, and product development teams to execute business development initiatives.
  • Assist in the creation and implementation of strategies to achieve business objectives and drive revenue growth.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Experience:
  • Proven experience in business development, with a focus on ag commodities, ethanol, and/or biofuel production.
  • Demonstrated success in identifying and pursuing new business opportunities.
  • Skills:
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret market data and trends.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM software.
  • Attributes:
  • Self-motivated and goal-oriented, with a proactive approach to business development.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
